Retrofit · Dubai
Automating an existing villa without rewiring
You do not need a new build to have a smart villa. Most of what makes a home smart can be added to an existing villa without opening walls or moving out. Retrofit is one of NoorIQ's strengths, and this is how it works.

What can be added without opening walls
Wireless technology and compact modules make most systems possible in a finished villa:
- Lighting: compact modules behind existing switches, smart switches, bulbs and light strips
- Climate: control for split, ducted and central AC through thermostats or controllers
- Curtains and blinds: motors on existing or replaced tracks
- Security and access: cameras, video doorbell, smart locks, door and window sensors
- Safety: smoke, leak and air quality sensors
- Entertainment: audio and TV scenes in living and media rooms
How a retrofit project runs
A retrofit follows the same five steps as every NoorIQ project:
- Consultation and site visit: we walk through every room with you and check wiring, AC, curtain tracks and network coverage
- Proposal: a written fixed-price proposal for the agreed scope
- Installation: our team installs room by room and plans the work around your family
- Configuration and calibration: everything is connected into one app, with scenes and schedules tuned to your routine
- Handover: we show the family how it all works, and one month of support is included
How long it takes
It depends on the scope. As an example, our Düsseldorf villa project, 8 rooms with more than 50 devices, was installed in 3 days. You get a schedule with your proposal.
Network coverage comes first
A smart villa depends on good coverage in every room and outside. During the site visit we check the network, and where it is weak we recommend the right access points as part of the proposal, so the system is reliable from day one.
Retrofit or rewire
If you are planning a major renovation anyway, wiring for automation at the same time can make sense. If not, a retrofit gives you most of the benefit with far less disruption. We tell you honestly which route suits your villa.
Questions villa owners ask
Can an existing villa become a smart home without rewiring?
In most cases, yes. Lighting, climate, curtains, security and sensors can be added with wireless devices and compact modules behind existing switches, without opening walls.
Do we have to move out during installation?
No. We install room by room and plan the work around your family to keep disruption low.
Will the villa look full of gadgets?
No. Devices are chosen to fit the villa, many sit behind existing switches or out of sight, and the family keeps using familiar switches, the app or Luana.
Can we extend it later?
Yes. A retrofit can start with a few rooms or systems and grow later, all within the same app.
How much does a smart home retrofit cost?
NoorIQ villa projects start from AED 10,000. The final price depends on the rooms, the systems and the villa, and you get a written fixed-price proposal after a free consultation.
