Smart curtains and blinds for Dubai villas

In Dubai the sun decides how warm a room gets. Motorised curtains and blinds that close on their own when the sun reaches the glass keep rooms cooler, protect furniture and floors, and make every scene feel finished. Here is how it works in a villa and what to plan for.

Why shading matters more in Dubai

Large windows and strong sun mean rooms can heat up for hours every afternoon. Closing curtains or blinds on the sunny side before the heat builds up keeps the room more comfortable and gives the AC less heat to remove.

Doing that by hand, room by room, rarely happens. Automated shading does it every day without anyone having to think about it.

What you can automate

Most window coverings in a villa can be motorised. A typical villa combines several types:

  • Curtains on tracks, from heavy drapes to light sheers
  • Roller blinds and blackout blinds in bedrooms and media rooms
  • Shading for large glass fronts and terrace doors
  • Groups of windows that move together: one room, one side of the villa or the whole floor

Working with the rest of the villa

Shading is most useful when it works with everything else. In a NoorIQ villa, curtains and blinds are part of the same system as lights and climate, so they can follow rules like these:

  • Close on the sunny side in the afternoon and open again in the evening
  • Close when a room gets warm while the family is out
  • Open slowly in the morning as part of a wake-up scene
  • Close together with dimmed lights when a movie starts
  • Open or close across the whole villa with one tap, or by asking Luana

Existing curtains and tracks

Motors can often be added to existing curtain tracks, or a track is replaced with a motorised one in a similar style, without rebuilding the room. Where there is no power near a window, there are usually options too. We check every window during the site visit and tell you what fits.

Simple for everyone in the family

Curtains respond to the app, to wall switches, to schedules and to scenes. Nobody needs a remote for every window, and guests can still use a simple switch.

Questions villa owners ask

Can existing curtains be motorised?

Often, yes. Motors fit many existing tracks, or the track is replaced with a motorised one in a similar style. We check each window during a free site visit.

Do smart curtains help with the AC bill?

Closing curtains and blinds on the sunny side before a room heats up reduces how much heat the AC has to remove. How much you save depends on the villa, the glazing and how you use the rooms, so we do not promise a figure.

Can the curtains still be used with a switch?

Yes. Besides the app, schedules and scenes, curtains can be operated from wall switches, so nobody needs a phone to open a curtain.

How much do smart curtains cost in Dubai?

It depends on the number and size of windows, the type of curtains and blinds, and the rest of the scope. We do not sell per-product prices. NoorIQ villa projects start from AED 10,000, with a written fixed-price proposal after a free consultation.

Can I open the curtains by voice?

Yes. You can ask Luana, our cloud-based AI assistant, to open or close the curtains in one room or across the villa.
